Tastes

If not for the rum, this would be virtually tasteless. Very little happening here.

Not bad. The sweetness isn’t overwhelming thanks to the rye, which balances well. Not great in cocktails, but if you want a cheap sipper, you can do worse.

Almost beats you over the head with sweetness. No complexity or character you’d expect for 90 proof. A couple drops of water did make it more reasonable.

More alcohol burn than there should be for the low ABV. Thin mouthfeel with a decent oak flavor on the finish. That fades to a vague sweetness, though.

Very sweet and alcoholic on the nose. Taste has vanilla sweetness with just enough oak and rye to keep it from being overpowering. The rye lingers briefly on the aftertaste.

Oak, oak, with a side of oak. But in the right ways. Consistent, quality mouthfeel and an easy finish.

This was better than I expected. The nose was almost overwhelmingly sweet and an initial rush of sweetness greeted me when drinking. That was followed by a slight pepper taste and smoke, which followed to the finish.
