I’m not normally fond of Laphroaig, but this was offered at break-even price, so I gave it a try. This is better than the 10; the Maker’s Mark barreling helped soften the medicinal flavor. The sweeter profile doesn’t exactly work with the smoke, but it doesn’t fight it, either.

A solid rye whiskey, though I had higher hopes for this one. Does not drink as a 110+ proofer. I hope the flavor matures as the line ages.

Grew on me as I got through the pour. The sweetness worked work peat really well on the nose. It couldn’t decide whether it wanted to mix with the peat or separate on the palate. I enjoyed it more when the honey-d flavor did not compete with the smoke.

A classic bourbon that does nothing wrong. Just doesn’t stand out, if you’re looking for something different.

This is one I’ve wanted to try for a while. The rum finishing really comes through here, giving a satisfying sweetness and depth to the Speyside.

I may have scared the bartender with my raving about how good this is. Bubblegum, candied ginger, cinnamon, rye spice, and baking spices all mix together in this wonderful, silky whiskey.

A very enjoyable bourbon. Sweetness and cream, but not too much. A little bit of oak complements.

I enjoyed this. Very oaky and fruity, but very approachable.

Heavily on the sweet side. Little oak to be found.
