Weller Special Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 2, 2015 (edited December 5, 2015)After having Larceny (for cheaper and liking better) I want to give this a 3.5, but I'll be generous and go with 4 because it's still a damn good bourbon for the price. I've had more expensive stuff that's hard to choke down. This stuff ain't that. Very balanced nose, hits the tongue with a little sweetness then rounds out with a gentle burn. Great value for a daily dram -
Larceny Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 31, 2015 (edited June 2, 2015)I've read that this is HHs response to MM. If that's the case there's a clear winner.. Larceny. It's not even a question. As someone else said, when Jack or Jim are the same price why would you even ponder buying them when this is available? At $18 bucks this has to be the absolute value for a bourbon I've ever had. EC at $22 is probably a better value but that was on sale. I came to appreciate it more the further down the bottle I got. The maple syrup pancakes nails the mid palette, followed by slight burn and mild in length finish. Buy it, you won't be disappointed. At that price point I'm definitely buying again
