Tastes

Never thought it would be this good. Punchy, brown i.e. "basterd" sugar, lots of character and a finish that reminds me of the good bacardi times 40-50 years ago (and long gone), but here much stronger.

Rum for bourbon drinkers. All about the barrel. Burned sugar, fudge, sweet but not too sweet, hot, but it takes water fairly well.

Gives an older impression than the 15 year, more cask influence. Accordingly, the ratio pot/collumn is different. Shows one's more that with rum different ages does not mean that the rum is otherwise the same. I prefer the 15, more nuanced, subtle, less overt oak.

Nose is rather herbally, green, I wouldn't call it funky. Gives a much younger impression than 15 years. Taste is good, a little sweet, quite hot actually. Started with 3.75, but after a few months it became very, very good, 4.5

On the nose rum (i.e. molasses) and strong vanilla, of the good kind, realy very good. Knowing its angostura I expected a very sweet palate, but its just a little sweet, it even has a (oaky)bitter finish. Very easy, smooth, sipper. Not good for a daiquiri. Possibly the smoothest drink I know.

Stil young, lots of the typical agricole flavors. The nose reminds me for some odd reason of single malt.

More balanced and less over the top than the Herr, and good ti punch. You can also use it to make your own blend, mix with some el derado or doorly's or other barrel forward rum.
