Blanton's Original Single Barrel
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 7, 2019 (edited September 24, 2019)Like a football team that excels in all 3 phases of the game. The offense is cinnamon sugar in the nose, coupled with dark hints or tobacco. The defense is the palate, light, with notes caramel, toffee, and snickerdoodle cookies. The special teams is the finish, warm spicy, but not overpowering. Well balanced and very intriguing overall. -
It’s hard for me to get past the peat smoke, but I’m trying my hardest I get hints of tangerines on the nose, just the smell of the mesh bag, or the way your fingers smell after you peel one. On the palate I taste flavors of butterscotch and a warm salty pretzel. The peaty finish lingers on the tongue, but doesn’t overpower.
