Had it again tonight and shared. Too much alcohol. Love the flavors but just way too much alcohol and burn for this price point.

Lots of butterscotch and vanilla on the nose - can be overwhelming if you aren’t in the mood for that. Very smooth. Perhaps a little thick, or syrupy compared to other tequilas. Only thing I’ve tried that competes with it anywhere near this price point is Clase Azul Reposado.

I like that it has the sweet, caramel, vanilla, Smokey flavors going for it. My knock against it is that the alcohol is very present. Surprisingly, it hits you right in the face when you go to sip it. 1942 and Clase Azul have none of that. I do like that the mouthfeel is thinner than 1942, and more similar to Clase Azul. I also like the interesting smokey, unami type flavors of the middle and finish. I had the 2018 release.

Not impressed. Batch 44. I don’t see why there is hype around this anejo. It tastes more like a reposado and while not bad, it’s not worth the price. Clase Azul reposado is the same price and much better. Don Julio Anejo is less expensive and better. For a little more you can get 1942. Pass.
