Tastes

Nose: peat smoke, medicinal, dried fruit, something a little leathery and maybe herbal. Smells really nice and layered if not super complex. Palate: creamy moving to oily, smoke, mint, caramelised figs, bit of pepper. Finish: drying, smoky, tangy like sour citrus, oak. This one is nice. Will unquestionably be back for the price.

Nose: ocean, seaweed, salty spray, citrus, honey, really bright and nice. Palate: surprisingly creamy, pepper, rubber, summer fruit. Yummy. Finish: drying, long-ish, bit bitter, oak. Really surprisingly nice. I didn’t think I would like from the description.

Nose: salted caramel, dried fruit, Sherry Palate: creamy, oak, vanilla, leather & dust Finish: dry and long, earthy, bit of salt

2005 Pedro Ximenez cask Nose: smoke & Sherry fruit, sweet and dark fruit like figs, leather, musk. Palate: thick and oily, super smoky and strong orange flavour, dates and dried fruit. Finish: long but gentle, mint, chocolate.

Nose: gentle peat smoke, medicinal, dried fruit. Palate: creamy, grass, citrus, nice smoke. Finish: really long and warm, pepper, smoke, barbecue.

Nose: light smoke and breezy brine, raisins, tropical fruit. Palate: oily, maritime, seaweed, dark chocolate, warm spices. Finish: oak spice, wood, butter citrus peel. This one is yummy, but not very memorable.

Nose: grass, mint, apples, candied ginger, bit of brine. Palate: creamy, summer fruit, toasted nuts, bit of ginger spice. Finish: oaky spice, lingering sweetness. Really nice one.

N: honey, allspice, buttery pastry, springtime. P: creamy, mint, spicy, brown sugar, brine. F: woody & spicy. This is magical, surprising, and utterly delicious.

N: fingernail polish remover, medicinal, apples. Palate: drying, oak, tart apple, spicy ginger. Finish: wood, tart. Old and fairly complex. Not for me.
