Tastes

Very smooth, little to no burn. Caramel and maple without the syrupy quality of lesser bottles. Balanced. Sweet and soft. Herby finish with clove/bay leaf feel on the tongue.

Buttery fruitcake and sherry. A toasted nuts finish.

A mild scotch but still satisfying. Lots of toffee and oak. Soft spice with smooth finish. A bourbon drinker wary of scotch would love it.

Incredibly smooth for such high alcohol. At first, lots of heat, but pleasantly so. Finishes with the vanilla and caramel notes bourbon drinkers are looking for.

I want to respond to my first sip of Old Rip Van Winkle with a contrarian hesitation, but it's just too good. Above average fruit in the nose, and more fruit on the palate. A refreshingly light balance for bourbon. Like your stereo EQ with the mids turned up on a uniquely mixed record.

Cherry and oak on the first sip, black tea aftertaste. Great sipper and good old fashioned mixer.

Hard candy caramel, followed by dark cherry. Vanilla runs throughout.
