This single barrel #929 is pretty darn good. Very smooth yet spicy at the same time. Nose isnclassic bourbon all around withbsome caramel, vanilla, sweet cereal and some toasted barrel char (10/10). The palate starts smooth and a hint of sweet but finishes with a little bit of spicy, oaky, maybe some tobacco notes (9.2/10). At 123.2, the proof drinks under its proof and has a pretty long finish. Aged 8 years, mash bill 72 corn, 18 rye, 5 wheat and 5 malted barley. 100% grain-to-glass.

As far as Japanese Whisky goes, this is probably the best I’ve had. Very well balanced, excellent nose of honey, vanilla, maybe a hint of orange. The palate has some sweetness, smooth smokiness (very subtle on the finish). Overall, excellent pour.

Nose: Ethanol, corn forward Palette: Sweet on the front, ethanol, corn sweetness Finish: medium spice, little ethanol burn Overall: Pretty good, smooth, young bourbon. Not too complex. Value at $30 or less, no more.

Well balanced with spicy, sweet, and oak. Little but of heat coming from the 100 proof but is feels like a nice Kentucky hug. Very good bourbon.

Nose: Classic bourbon nose, vanilla, woody, a little ethanol forward. Palette: thin on the front, slightly drying, spice hits first Finish: woody and some leather, little but of sweetness. Overall, classic bourbon notes with the 10 year age showing though. May be spicy and a little too woody for some. Drinks at or a little hot for its proof. Not very complex, slightly drying, with a woody leathery finish.

This one just didnt work for me. To me it comes off grassy, maybe oaky. Doesn’t mix well either in my opinion. Its not too harsh and has a good mouthfeel. It’s unique, but just not my flavor profile.

This definitely packs a punch. I got mostly vanilla and brown sugar on the nose, first time I got peanut butter on the pallet. Added some water to see what it would do. It kind of tamed all the flavors but the heat came out more. So I poured the rest to make an old fashion. It was tasty. The nose changed to a little more leather and brown sugar. Overall pretty good bottle. Actually smoother than I was anticipating.
