Willett Family Estate Bottled Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed July 29, 2019 (edited August 4, 2019)A very smooth upfront taste when served neat. Light caramel color, just a hint of reddish. Aroma definitely had a sweet caramel, maybe a hint of banana lingering between a Woodsy scent. Caramel and toffee upfront taste, very smooth with little burn. Some dark fruit (plum? Currant, blackberry?) finish.105.0 USD per BottleLiquor Express and Craft Beer -

Clyde May's Special Reserve Alabama Style Whiskey (110 Proof)
Flavored Whiskey — USA
Reviewed May 17, 2019Fun. Not much burn and caramel apple very up front for a 110 proof. Definitely ok with a large ice cube, you won’t miss any complexity. It’s apple. But, an easy end to a nice dinner while others enjoy their desert. I wouldn’t have it in my ‘tight’ collection, but glad I tried it.16.0 USD per PourGrille 29 -
Blanton's Original Single Barrel
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 16, 2019 (edited July 23, 2019)So smooth. Drink neat, no ice, because it’s a great neat sipper. A friend picked up two bottles for me. Originally, I stated in this review it was an 80 proof. I didn’t check the bottle, it assumed from the non-heat and smoothness it was in the low end of the range. It was pointed out they’re 90 proof. Thanks!60.0 USD per BottleABC SELECT SPIRITS -
This rich sweet-forward pour BRINGS THE HEAT. The nose easily detects caramel, molasses, baked brown sugar and cinnamon. The palette is immediately hit with a burn and peppery spice on the tip of the tongue, while sweet flavors of molasses and vanilla flow over the sides of tongue in back. A thick mouth feel that’s enjoyable while the heat flairs up and spreads throughout your mouth, throat, and body. I added several drops of water from a straw, several times. I want to try their lower ABV for comparison. Might enjoy it better. Usually, I lean toward high proof for complexity and richness and feel the burn isn’t as noticeable after the 3rd or 4th sip. Not the case with this Taylor, that burn never seemed to let up until water was added and many sips were taken. I did have a rough spot on my tongue which may have affected that.20.0 USD per PourOdette
