Smooth, almost too smooth. Nose: Brooding dark chocolate covered cherry with hints of vanilla. Pepper or some spice at the end. Palate: orange caramel and apple. Finish: Long and lingering candy cane or something like it. Not minty, but bright like that.59.0 USD per BottleLiquor Express and Craft Beer

Dettling Single Barrel Cask Strength Bourbon (Under 2 Years)
Bourbon — Alabama, USA
Reviewed March 22, 2019 (edited July 4, 2022)Nose was slightly sweet, slightly Woody. Palette: immediate heat. Followed by heat. By the third sip, I was tasting coffee and chocolate notes with oats. Kind of a oatmeal cookie taste. Quite flavorful. I think this is about 3.5 years in the barrel. Cask strength so the flavor has impact. Well worth grabbing a bottle. -
First, don’t buy a pour at this hotel bar. Stupid pricey. But, they had the 2018-03, Kentucky Chew batch. It was worth it. NOSE: caramel, slightly burnt coffee cake, maybe almond. PALATE: HEAT. then some heat. By the third or 4th sip, the flavors really came out. Some type of fruit, caramel, vanilla with a dark rum/choc lingering finish.20.0 USD per PourBirmingham Marriott

In actuality, I opened a bottle (to share) of Francis Darroze Bas-Armagnac that was distilled in 1966 and remained unsealed until opened in 2019. 99 proof. Domaine de Saint-Aubin Le Houga (Yers) is also on the label. A cognac loving friend who also tasted it thought it was excellent. To me, palette was spicy up front; a bit of a grape finish possibly, but I had to seek it out over the warmth on the tongue.500.0 USD per Bottle
