Kirkland Irish Cream Liqueur
Dairy/Egg Liqueurs — Ireland, Ireland
Reviewed March 26, 2020 (edited April 15, 2022)Creamy and sweet. A solid deal for 1.75 L for sub $20. This gets brought out mostly for guests at parties. I use it in coffee and White Russians. -
This was on sale and the same price as standard Jameson, so I grabbed a bottle. Solid whiskey. It’s smell and taste is fuller and richer than the regular version. I don’t get as much of that distinct buttery note on the smell, but it’s nicely melded with the chocolatey flavors. It adds a hint of dark chocolate on the taste with some wood notes and a dry finish. It’s very drinkable and would make a solid every day pour. I’d love to try the IPA version too!22.0 USD per Bottle

This was my go to bourbon before BT got stingy with distribution. It’s sweet and fruity. While Weller SR has an apple flavor, Buffalo Trace reminds me of more berries. It’s also more honeyed and has a longer finish with some oak at the end. Solid bourbon for the price. Just wish it was more readily available.23.0 USD per Bottle

Jack Daniel's Gentleman Jack
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed March 13, 2020 (edited March 16, 2020)I agree with several others. It’s banana pudding with vanilla wafers. The smell is very distinct and the taste is pretty similar but with a leathery aftertaste. I don’t normally like Jack but this is enjoyable. -
Jim Beam Black Label Extra-Aged
Bourbon — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed March 12, 2020 (edited May 12, 2020)A bit better than original Jim Beam. The nose has some vanilla sweetness and spice. Palate is the same but the sweetness is like diluted sugar water. Everything tastes diluted but still better than white label. My go to bourbon at this price point (sub-$15) is Evan Williams BiB. -
Balcones Texas Single Malt Rum Cask Finished
American Single Malt — Texas, USA
Reviewed March 12, 2020 (edited January 12, 2022)Tried this at the distillery. Heavy caramelized sweetness. Definitely add some water to this one. It’s molasses, figs, and caramel. Thick is the best way I can describe. Take your time and keep adding water to get more of the fruitiness of the barley to come out.
