Sweet caramel and spiced fruit nose. The taste is what you'd expect, but more balanced and robust. I think for me the leather was more pronounced helping to counter the mouth coating syrupy quality. The finish was exceptionally smooth and dry. This is my go to Bourbon, usually while playing cards, with ice.

Captain Morgan nose. Sorry folks but this one had an aroma reminding me of spiced rum. The taste is spicy and robust. Kind of punches you in the back of the palate. The finish is like a one night stand, quick and all over the place. The walk of shame will probably lead you back for another round. I have had a few different batches, and the subtle differences keep me coming back for more.

Jameson 12 Year Special Reserve
Blended — Ireland
Reviewed November 26, 2014 (edited March 12, 2015)Fruity sweet nose, reminding me of graham cracker pie crust. The first mouthful removes any preconceived notions about Jameson. Complex, smooth, well balanced, without the bitter bottom of the barrel flavors that standard Jameson leaves you with. Sweetness is well controlled, and the finish is dry and lip smacking. I prefer this one with a single whiskey ball, which enhances the smoothness. My go to for unwinding after work, and I refuse to share. -
Nose is balanced with the spicy caramel notes you'd expect from a bourbon. The taste is smooth, with less sweetness than you'd expect from the nose. Touch of bite on the backend, but what sold me on this one is the exceptionally dry, yet lasting finish. With well controlled balance in the sweetness, and that nice dry finish, this one will appeal to Scotch Drinkers.

Spicy slightly more intense nose than the no. 7. Initial mouthful is the usual Jack flavors, caramel, spice, orange, and sweet throughout. The finish is like licking the barrel. The oaky notes overwhelm this one, and leave you reluctant to finish the glass. Adding a little water mellows the sweet stickiness, but seems to intensify the taste of barrel. For me, at around 1/4th of the cost, Jack Single Barrel or Gentleman Jack each have a much more balanced and well rounded flavor.
