Very Old Barton 86 Proof Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed April 6, 2023 (edited September 29, 2023)Not bad at this price range but Evan Williams and Ezra Brooks are better. -
Starts very sweet like maple syrup then there's a quick kick of spicyness, the label says there's some vanilla and oak to it but I really didn't taste either of those. This was about 15 USD, and it's worth that. This is a really easy drinking whisky, and while it is enjoyable neat, it's probably best served on the rocks or as a mixer.

Lonehand Whiskey
Tennessee Whiskey — Tennessee , USA
Reviewed October 12, 2020 (edited December 4, 2020)It's decent enough for the price, I had read that it was similar to Jack so that's what I was expecting and it's really not similar at all to me. That doesn't make it bad, it's just not what I was expecting. It's pretty smooth for a 12 dollar bottle of whiskey, there's some cinnamon and vanilla to it as well as a strange kind of muddled grainy taste throughout. -
Southshot Original Small Batch Bourbon Whiskey
Bourbon — USA
Reviewed October 10, 2020 (edited February 11, 2022)Pleasantly surprised especially considering how cheap this was, 11.99 USD at Total Wine. It has kind of a malty flavor to it. It's quick and simple but at this price that's alright and I would purchase this one again. -
Old Forester Classic 86 Proof
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 14, 2020 (edited September 10, 2020)Good bourbon for the price. Flavor of dark fruits, wood, and vanilla. There is also an astringment kind of varnish twang to it as well though. Good but not good enough to replace Evan Williams as my daily budget bourbon. -
Heaven Hill White Label (80 Proof)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed May 29, 2020 (edited December 20, 2021)Musty funky aroma and flavor in the beginning after that goes away it's very soft, surprisingly smooth for the price. Nothing too offensive really, but nothing much really stands out about it either in terms of flavor. I'd rank this neck and neck with JB white label, but Evan WIlliams (black or bib) are much better quality for not much more money.11.0 USD per Bottle -
Kentucky Gentleman
Blended American Whiskey — Kentucky , USA
Reviewed May 19, 2020 (edited October 7, 2023)Got a pint of this for $4.32 at the local shop, and it is what it is, quick vanilla frosting flavor with no lingering aftertaste good or bad. The burn on this is nowhere near as bad as I had expected, for four dollars and change it's just fine, honestly in my opinion it's about as good as JB white label and costs 3 dollars less.
