Method and Madness Single Pot Still Finished in Chestnut Casks
Single Pot Still — Ireland
Reviewed October 23, 2020 (edited December 11, 2021)Smell- banana candy First sip, sweet, caramel, bananas foster Second sip, hit with a wham of smokiness and chestnut, that disappeared quickly (and that smoky hit didn't return on subsequent sips) 3rd sips onward- sweet and smooth with a great mouthfeel and a woody finish. Overall I really enjoy this. Not sure it's quite worth the price point ($74 in Pa), but I would definitely drink again Edit: adding subsequent tastes 2 months later. This is seriously a damn fine pour. I have enjoyed this more each time I taste it. It is smooth, oily and rich. All if the finishing adds a lot of character that improves over time. -

Belle Meade Bourbon Madeira Cask Finish
Bourbon — Tennessee, USA
Reviewed June 8, 2019 (edited August 20, 2020)Wow. found this for $60 in a little shop in Maryland and it was a great buy. The Madeira adds Rich fruity notes which are a nice counter to the high spice and vanilla tones. It has a good body, and long finish. I would keep this on my shelf in my regular rotation.61.0 USD per Bottle -
Boone County Eighteen33 Straight Bourbon 10 Year
Bourbon — (bottled in Kentucky), USA
Reviewed August 10, 2018This is a darn fine sip. Light nondescript sweet aromas lead to a surprisingly Full mouth feel, almost heavy. Buttery smooth, with almost no burn at all. Rich with caramel, honey, vanilla and a small hit of spice on the finish. Absolutely would buy this again.
