It's in the same class as THH. Like THH, it's a "barely legal" rye, but the WT has a much sweeter profile. Took a good 15 minutes to open up. Nose is very pleasant, but nothing exceptional. The mouthfeel and finish are top of the heap. Has a dry cocoa/ chocolate/oaky thing going on and it's balance is spot on. Delicious and one of the best ryes available.180.0 USD per Bottle

Canadian Club Chronicles 41 Year
Canadian — Ontario, Canada
Reviewed February 22, 2019 (edited January 31, 2021)This is easily the best Canadian whiskey I have had. Extremely complex and subtle. Requires patience. I give it a minimum of 30 minutes, but really needs more. Expect nothing out of it from drink and pour; it will taste watered down and boring. Needs no added water. After proper rest, vanilla and ginger dominate with an evolving fruit potpourri of flavors on the palate. All of this is backed up by a dusty oaky/rye foundation that never intrudes, but gives the spirit just enough backbone. Exceptional! -
The blender of this whisky did a magnificent job. You can taste the old whisky in this blend quite easily. Rewards extra time in the glass and a few drops of water. Exhibits complexity with a faint whisp of smoke and ash along with dry fruits and a wee bit of sweetness. Peat is subdued. Only real negative is price, but I am not unhappy with my purchase. Bravo.399.0 USD per Bottle

Rhetoric 25 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 5, 2018 (edited December 21, 2018)I had the good fortune of purchasing a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle 20 2016 when I got into this hobby two years ago. This is the closest I have come to that experience. When I first cracked the bottle I was not too impressed. A week later, and wow; it's really impressive. If you like oaky, complex bourbon get a bottle. You won't be disappointed. -
High West A Midwinter Night's Dram
Rye — (bottled in) Utah, USA
Reviewed November 7, 2018 (edited November 12, 2018)An exceptional and unique rye. Reminds me of Magnus, but more rounded and more integrated. The finish does not dominate the rye which retains all the spice one could want. Loooong finish. Bravo! -
Russell's Reserve Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed September 7, 2018 (edited September 17, 2018)Impossible to find Blanton's in my area now so I am on the hunt for a replacement. RRSB is not only a great substitute for Blanton's it may be better. If you don't like that spicy, big, bold WT flavor profile this won't change your mind, but honestly, this bourbon is within spitting distance of the Master's Keep offerings. Amazing. -
Old Forester 1920 Prohibition Style
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 16, 2018 (edited August 28, 2018)Excellent, honest bourbon that does everything right. Perhaps a bit generic. Don't let the proof scare you away; very little burn.65.0 USD per Bottle -
Joseph Magnus Triple Cask Finished Bourbon
Bourbon — Indiana (Finished and Bottled in Washington DC), USA
Reviewed August 16, 2018 (edited November 25, 2018)Overall, Magnus ranges anywhere from a 3-5+ stars so I settled on 4. This is one complex bourbon. It needs time in the glass to really open up. Constantly reminded of cherry coke, but there is a ton of depth here. Never had anything quite like it. Value is questionable, but if you walk off the beaten path grab yourself a bottle.110.0 USD per Bottle
