Auchentoshan Three Wood
Single Malt — Lowlands, Scotland
Reviewed July 19, 2016 (edited February 3, 2020)Possibly distilled by the hands of a Gaelic god, with hints of brown sugar and vanilla, this is the one bottle I would need to have on a stranded island. -
Springbank 15 Year
Single Malt — Campbeltown, Scotland
Reviewed July 19, 2016 (edited January 12, 2018)Whereas some peated single malts can feel like they were distilled by Esso, this is a wonderful scotch, with hints of toffee and leather. The body is full and the finish prolonged. Worth every penny. -
Macallan Amber 1824 Series
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed July 19, 2016 (edited August 14, 2017)Remarkably terrible. The nose is quite pleasant, misleading the eventual outcome, with flavor and body that is a clusterfuck of awful. Prepare yourself for the experience of staring at a tumbler for an indeterminate period of time and wondering, "Who the hell at Edrington Group approved this?"
