Mortlach 15 Year (Game of Thrones Six Kingdoms)
Single Malt — Scotland
Reviewed December 25, 2019 (edited November 2, 2020)Smooth, warming vanilla and almond with a little bit of brine. Almost like a more rugged amaretto.150.0 USD per BottleSuper Buy Rite Liquors -
Little bit of smoke on the nose but not much comes through to the palate. Sweet and smooth but not much real character to speak of. If someone wants an introduction to drinking scotch neat, but finds the price tag or the profiles of single malts too intimidating, this would be a decent start to “break in” the palate.36.0 USD per BottleWest Deptford

Had my first glass with a large ice cube since Johnnie Walker recommends serving it cold (in my experience, that means there will be a lot of the grain whisky burn). Nose is grassy and clean, just like the bottle says. Not as syrupy on the palate as the White Walker. Loads of vanilla overwhelm a hint of fruit and as it gets colder and diluted, it almost loses any distinguishable taste. Clean finish. I bought it for the marketing gimmick.36.0 USD per BottleWest Deptford
