Got to say i am a fan of bourbon but i am in my early stages of ever become a bourbon connoisseur. This time i review the Evan Williams kentucky bourbon No.1 On the nose is AMAZING: Banana Vanilla ice cream Spicyness, oregano Beautifully perfumed So so sweet On the palate: charred oak Very spicy Lots of wood flavor, not sweet at all Herbal mint note. Finish was too short what a dissapointment, it has been a good dram so far. Overall i give this bourbon a fair 82 over 100. Cheers!

Bad Japanese Whiskies do not exist. That is a true fact. This Single malt, is no exception to that rule. This is a solid Whisky in the nose and palate. Bottled at 43%abv, with an insanely white wine color (almost transparent). On the nose is a mixture between Japanese and scotch Whiskies: Sherry, Brown cake, Raisins, Oranges, Wet grass, Lemons, Liquorice, Cinammon and Honey. On the palate it is a little straightforward: Tobbacco and pepper are the main notes. Slight caramel, Liquorice. Long finish, Hot with lots of character. Overall i give this excelent dram an 87 over 100 (almost a 4.5). Cheers!

Only very few times i have read about irish whiskies that cause a lot of hype in people. This one is the case. It seems to be that everybody loves this whiskey. So, i gave it a try. This is what i got: Bottled at 40%abv, burnished gold color. On the nose, it just feels like a speyside whisky. Red apples, pepper, honey, cookie dough and vanilla. On the palate, tobacco, cinnamon, red pepper, red fruits and grain whiskey. It is very creamy and "grainy". Aftertaste is medium long, with ginger, chilli and wasabi notes. Actually a nice dram, but it doesn't live to the hype. 83/100.

Last night before i had Glenmorangie Signet, now the ruler of all whiskies for me, i had a Grant's sherry cask. Not bad actually but yet another dram i wouldn't buy again. Bottled at 40% abv, amontillado sherry color. On the nose: vanilla, sherry, nuts, blackberry marmalade, slight perfumed peat. On the palate: chilli, oak, hay, cereal, sherry and the toasted crest of a vanilla cake. Mostly spicy finish medium long. Actually a good dram, i rate this one 86 over 100, BUT SINCE THIS IS NOT GLENMORANGIE SIGNET, YOU SHOULD PASS ON THIS ONE.

Ballantine's Glentauchers 15 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed April 5, 2020 (edited April 29, 2022)My second review of "Ballantine's Single Malt series" is this very nice dram, another not-so-famous Speyside distillery called "Glentauchers", in its 15yo expression. Bottled at 40%abv. On the nose, as speysider as a dram can be: Apples, Pear, Berries, Fresh fruit and Cinnamon. On the palate, Pleasant, very easy drinkable. Oak spice. Chocolate and cocoa butter. Tobacco leaf. Aftertaste is all about tobacco and chocolate. short finish. Overall this is yet another very balanced, fruity, nice whisky. Very easy drinkable and within a reasonable price for a 15yo. 82 over 100. -
I have never had a bad Glenrothes. Absolutely complex, difficult, rewarding, that is the proper way to describe this dram. Bottled at 43%abv, with an Amontillado Sherry color. On the nose it evolves with every sniff, starts with butter and cream notes, then changes into lemon peel, wet forest, prunes, pepper and after tasting it, you can find toasted sugar or caramel in it. On the palate is rich, flavorful and complex. A little bitter, a little sweet. Main notes are: ashes, caramel, tobbacco, oak, honey and spent fireworks, very balanced, a nice wrap. Finish is long and fruity with prune notes on it. Very good dram, i give this one a solid 92 over 100.

I HAVE HAD A WONDERFUL WHISKY NIGHT, i am in Buenos Aires, Argentina in Whisky live, the most important (and only ever) whisky tasting event in south america. I have tasted 16 whiskies tonight, some of them really amazing. Glenrothes is a great distillery. Definitively my favorite speysider after Glenfiddich, and this dram was not a dissapointment. Bottled at 40%abv. On the nose, LOTS OF SHERRY. Blackberry Marmalade, and wedding cake. Great aroma. On the palate, very smooth, a pleasant oakyness, very creamy with a bitter ending. Finish was quite lovely. Overall i give this dram a solid 88 over 100. Cheers!

Glenrothes used to be a wine company, that is why they release their bottles with a year statement. This is the 2001 expression, which wasn't a bad whisky, but definitively not a memorable one. Bottled at 43%abv On the nose is quite good; Vanilla cream, Prunes, Fresh forest, Orange jam, really Complex and changing aromas. On the palate is very smooth, and that is rare for the notes it has: Allspice, Liquorice, Butter, Chocolate butter and Tobacco. Finsish is medium and full of liquorice. Overall i give this dram a good 87 over 100.

My first Glenrothes ever was a good one. Bottled at 40%abv with a pale staw color. On the nose it is very nice, with grape juice, butter cookies, tobacco, chocolate butterscotch notes. A little dim but very good. On the palate, main notes are oranges, orange candy, pleasant oakyness, spices, ashes, and cough syrup. Mout watering medium finish full of spices. Overall it is an 82 out of 100, a nice Whisky.
