For a super straightforward and one dimensional whisky, this is not a bad dram at all, it is just simple. Actually it is very enjoyable and it is very very easy on the palate. Not very interesting in terms of tasting and aroma notes. Bottled at 40%abv On the nose, Honey, Red apples, Orange, Grass. On the palate, it is the most easy drinkable whisky ever. Not in a fantastic way though. It only tastes like honey cereal and red apples. Aftertaste is.... well more honey. And Vanilla. Overall this dram is what it is supposed to be: a cheap 15yo that delivers enough fun and flavor for the not-so-experts in whisky. My score is 72 over 100, but surely feels like it should at least be 78.

Dewar's 12 Year The Ancestor (Discontinued)
Blended — Scotland
Reviewed April 12, 2020 (edited December 5, 2020)I actually believed that the 12 yo and the white label were the same Dewars. Actually, this one is a little better. Bottled at 40%abv with an amontillado sherry color. On the nose main notes are: vanilla, peat, caramel, honey, prunes, toasted bread sticks, pepper and cola. Very sweet aroma. On the palate, tobacco, dry brown grass, hay, slight pepper, dim oakyness, with a honey finish very gentle and smooth. Overall this is a 73 over a 100. Fair whisky. -

A world classic, this is the first time i taste it i have to confess. And i got to say it is a little bit boring, with some remarks that helps this dram. Light gold watery color. Bottled at 40% abv. On the nose you geat a beautiful mild peatyness, better than the stinky Johnnie Walker Red label, after a few seconds you will find Plum and Orange. As time passes Citrus aromas take the lead. The aroma is simple but plessant. There is suppossed to be honey in there but i can't pervceive it. Suprisingly good at the first taste, it is Sweet and spicy. The honey is there. Finish is medium with a hint of peat. Medium bodied. Pleasant and enjoyable. There is a mild hot kick right before the swallow. Overall it is nice but way to simple. I added water to discover something else, i killed it. I dont usually add water to any whisky. I did it to find something else, but now is water in a glass, all flavor is lost now. I believe this is suitable for sweet cocktails.

Dalwhinnie Winter's Gold
Single Malt — Highlands, Scotland
Reviewed April 12, 2020 (edited April 13, 2021)I am very ashamed that after 347 whiskies, i just had a Dalwhinnie, one of "the 6 classic malts of Scotland". And i am not even going for the most iconic and classic one, the 15yo. This one called "winter's gold" has the perk of been distilled only in winter, so that's that. 43%abv, Burnished gold color. Yep, winter and golden. On the nose it is quite good, with wedding cake notes, strawberry marmalade, burnt cake crest and heather. Actually it prepared me for a great time in the palate that just didn't happen. On the palate, prunes, earthy peatiness, salt and coastal flavors. Reminds me too much of an Oban. Aftertaste is very, very, very short and that is why it lost most of the points. Overall this is a pleasant dram, nothing from out of this world and you won't die if you never taste it, 71 over 100. -
Simple and soft, it is not a bad dram at all. Just simple. Bottled at 40%abv, with a pale staw color. On the nose is very dim, with notes of stinky peat, tobacco, pepper, salt, sea aroma, vanilla and chocolate lindt. On the palate is normal but fine, with caramel, liquorice, pepper, tobacco, and the finish is sweet & salty, with a mild hotness, and chocolate lindt. Overall this one is a 75 over 100.

I am not a fond fan of canadian whiskies, and i really had only a handful of them so i am not a real source of knowledge in this field. As Canadian Club and the other two Crown Royals i have had (Black and "normal"). Bottled at 40%abv, tawny color. On the nose, it is so dim and not very fun. Honey, rye sweetness and some herbal notes. On the palate is easy drinkable, with honey and peanut butter notes. Aftertaste is simple with some tobacco notes and some spiciness, ginger and clove. Overall, my score for this dram is 76 over 100, its not my cup of tea, but there is nothing off-putting in it.

Ok, im impressed. I've never expected to get a nice experience from this whisky. Crown Royal deluxe blended scotch, Canadian most famous spirit, is well balanced, tasty, and elegant. On the nose is creamy with vanilla notes, a little floral or herbal. On the palate, it start very sweet, with caramel, honey and toffee notes, to change into a spicy but gentle sensation. the finish is medium, with a different, mint flavor. Never before have i experienced mint caramel on a whisky. Nice dram

Interesting, a little different from other canadian whiskies i have had. Bottled at 45%abv, with a beautiful dark color, actually "brown sherry" color. On the nose, it is not that strong, and it is hard to nose it really. Brown sugar notes, maple syrup (same in every canadian whisky ever lol) and some citrus note, like lemon or prune peel. On the Palate, starts with caramel for just a moment, then a spice bomb. Lots of spices, with a hot wood flavor and some orange notes. Very spicy. Medium bodied, but gets you mouth full of flavor. Not that pleasant though. Finish is medium, with the same profile. A little harsh, liked the color, i am not fond with the whole profile on this one, but i got to say it is not a bad dram at all. 68 out of 100.

Connemara Original Peated Single Malt
Single Malt — Ireland
Reviewed April 12, 2020 (edited April 14, 2020)A peated Irish whiskey is not something you get to try every day. Actually i was looking for a long time to taste a Connemara, and the result was kind of dissapointing. On the nose is gorgeous. Perfect score. A perfumed, lovely peat; marshmellows, burnt hay and starfruit. Quite an experience. But then, it just falls apart. On the palate it is very "watery". Some pepper and very little peat. All those great aroma notes are lost in the palate. Aftertaste is medium short with a slight peatiness. Move along, nothing to see here. Overall i give this dram a 67 over 100 and most of the points were obtained on the nose part. :(
