Tastes

On the nose sweet, dark fruits, cherry, some mint. Medium body, tastes of caramel, vanilla, almond, and finishes with a slight pepper. This is very good for the price. Would be fine sipping this neat (like tonight) or would make a great old fashioned if mixed drinks are your thing.

This, to me, is an "old brand, new find" bourbon. Was told recently Very Old Barton has stayed the same price in the 80s as is today, which is very comforting after the bourbon boom from a few years ago. At 100 proof, this bourbon doesn't disappoint. Lots of spice and rye on the nose. Taste notes of vanilla, nutmeg, spicy, rich mouth feel finish. A small drop of water/ice makes the bourbon a bit sweeter if you so desire. If you can find a bottle of this (has been difficult in recent years) buy two or three! At the price point it won't break your bank and, if you want to mix it (don't know why), you won't feel bad about that either. Enjoy.

On the nose is a strong citrus scent, orange rind and lemon. Defintely can taste the rum aging on this, notes of banana, butterscotch, caramel on the medium to long finish. Very good rum cask expression by Tullamore!

Seems "thin" overall. Tried neat at first. On the nose was a vegetal smell and it had a rye/grain forward taste, with a quick finish. Added a standard ice cube per roughly 2 shots of this liquor and it changed the flavor a bit for the better: light notes of vanilla, cocoa powder, smooth...still a quick finish. This will be a one time buy because there's better out there on the market at this price point.

Lots of spice on the nose, specifically clove. Smooth tasting throughout with minimal burn on the end. Tasting notes of honeycomb and vanilla throughout. Cinnamon spice on the backend of a medium finish. This is a good whiskey at a good price point.
