Torabhaig Allt Gleann The Legacy Series 2nd Edition
Single Malt — Island, Scotland
Reviewed October 2, 2022 (edited December 14, 2022)hugely peat forward, almost overly so. compared to laphroaig or ardbeg, seems to have less going on under the peat. good but maybe a one trick pony. it is a presumably young whisky since it has no age statement. i’ll update as I work through the bottle. maybe something more will develop, or maybe I will develop -
nose has a sweet/sour, spiced characteristic, reminds me of the filling of mincepie taste is sweet with fruit but also bitter like marmalade, finishes salty. also have a bottle of glenfiddich 12 open at the moment and compared to that the fruit is less apple-ly, less green. more spiced and orange. the taste is deeper and also more astringent at the finish. finishes with a hint of salt too asks slightly more of you than glenfiddich.
