Tastes

Nose is apples, butter mints, touch of citrus. Mouthfeel is thin. Taste is pretty bland nothing really stands out but the alcohol burn. Short to medium drying finish.

Very similar to an Irish whiskey with strong cereal notes. Reminds me of original Cheerios. Thin mouthfeel, very subtle and delicate overall.

Nose is caramel, vanilla, butterscotch, with a light alcohol scent. Palate is sweet with vanilla, caramel, and banana. Tastes like a standard bourbon. Finish is medium and sweet with banana and caramel.

Nose is peanuts, cinnamon, vanilla. Mouth feel is a touch oily, but leans a bit watery. Taste is peanut, vanilla, oak, cinnamon. Finish is oak, drying with a touch of vanilla.

Pretty solid, little more of a punch than I’d expect for an 81 proof bourbon.

I’ve tried this five or six times, and it has taken over 4 months in the bottle for me to finally enjoy this. The nose is really fruity, green apple, plum, a touch of citrus, and floral. The taste is vanilla with a bit of citrus and green apple. The mouth feel is creamy. Finish is a bit off, kind of like nail polish remover. The finish really hurts this whiskey.

Nose is orange peel, vanilla, rye. Mouth feel is oily and rich. Taste is rye, citrus and vanilla. Finish is sweet citrus peel and long.

Nose is a bit heavy on the ethanol. Mouth feel is creamy and oily. Really nice rye and citrus flavor. Finish is soft citrus and vanilla.

What a great value! This $10 bottle punches well above it’s price and would easily fetch 3 times it’s value if it had a different label. Let’s hope it remains one of the best values in bourbon
