Tastes

The peat scent hits you as you open the bottle. What really struck me on pouring was the light color. Neat it's peaty and sweet. A little bit of water brings out the sweetness a bit more. A very enjoyable dram.

Nose is packed full of earthy, peaty, smoke and that smell of a medicine cabinet. Neat, it's like chewing on a burnt piece of firewood with a bit of salted caramel. A bit of water seems to release more of the herbal qualities of the peat with a surprising bit of sweetness. The peat and smoke linger letting you know you just had a little bit of Islay.

Everything about this scotch me think of fresh warm apples with cinnamon & sugar. Finishes quick. Easy to drink neat but a bit of water brings out more of the fruit. A good basic scotch.

Peat, brine, and seaweed. Very astringent neat but better with a little water.
