Tastes

Terrific copper color. Finish: long, peppery and a touch of honey. Palate: Oak forward but not overpowering, toffee and honey swirl throughout. Smooth with a touch of spice. Nose: strong ethanol taking a long time to render. Sweet oak and baked snickerdoodles. Overall good pour 4.2 out of 5.

Not much flavor on this very reasonably priced bottle. Lacks depth and character and has a very short finish. Would be ok in a cocktail but I don’t consider this a slow sipper.

Mild citrus and earth on nose but smoke comes through. Palate stronger with ashtray peat and smoke. Finish is long, mildly hot but definitely moderately smokey. Not quite as peaty as some of the islay I’ve had but still too much smoke for me.

To me this tastes like sourdough bread soaked in flavorless whisky. I won’t be reaching for another pour.

Sweet butterscotch and toffee nose, full but smooth mouthfeel with oak vanilla caramel and toasted marshmallow. Finish is just right with some subtle spice and hits of tobacco and caramel. Very good!

Smooth mellow sipper. Sweet notes of vanilla and graham crackers. Faint fruit and oak come through on the palate. This one surprised me in a good way

Definitely picking up on the rye and spice on this one. Long warm finish

Ethanol nose drifted away after 20 min. Palate is rich with matured oak, vanilla, tobacco, and a hint of dark fruit. Finish with continued oak and spice. Better than standard WR.

Oak forward with some leather & spice. A touch of sweet flowers and vanilla in the nose and palate. 3.7 out of 5

Notes of candied pecans, honey, and vanilla; bit like baklava. Nice balance of spice and oak and tad sweet. Surprisingly very good, looking forward to the next pour of this!
