Tastes

Like the saying goes, everything’s bigger (and bolder) in Texas! The nose is just a little bit young but after sitting for a few minutes, brings oak and vanilla with some stone fruit mixed in. The palate is bold with lots of salty caramel, toffee and vanilla. The finish is very long (surprising given its age) and intense with baking spices and a hint of mint

Lots of bright red fruits on the nose with just a hint of ethanol but dissipates quickly once it breaths a few min. Blackberries and cinnamon apple take over as well. Palate is loaded with layers of fruit that yield to vanilla and caramel and then finishes with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. Very smooth with a medium/long finish which is surprising given the fact that this whisky only ages for 2-3 years!

Nose is a little better than regular Makers with a hint more oak and vanilla. The palate is more complex with a slight higher oily mouth feel. The finish was typical Makers trailing off just a little too soon with lots of vanilla

Nose was pretty strong with lots of vanilla and spice. Flavorful palate with lots of chew where oak, vanilla and cinnamon really came alive. Decently long finish with a hint of leather and tobacco and even more vanilla

Complex and beautiful nose with lots of oak, cinnamon and butter toffee . Palate was strong with lots of baking spice, cherry and vanilla. Finish was loooooong with caramel, cherry cola and more oak

Barrel pic from Total Wine Richmond TX (Barrel #011). Nice caramel notes with a hint of tobacco and leather. Finishes strong with red fruit coming through and just a hint of salty. Nice sipping bourbon

Great for cooking, not for sipping. Not very dynamic. You get a little bit of oak and vanilla then just a fairly week ethanol finish
