Tastes

On the nose peat and smoke, of course, with a bit of iodine/Band-Aids. Relatively light body, with a long, smouldering finish. Apparently this is a blend of Caol Ila and Laphroaig. I'm not familiar with the former, but assume that's where the iodine and lightness comes from since I don't typically get those from Laphroaig. Wouldn't rank it above the Laphroaig 10, but it's a nice change of pace.

This is a very meaty, full whiskey. Wouldn't have guessed it was only 40%... there's a nice lingering heat on the finish. Wish it was a tad less sweet.

Briny, sweet, and smoky on the nose, with more campfire on the body. No one aspect is dominant (in a good way). Nice long finish. Can't believe this is a NAS and that it only got an 85 rating. I'd put it at more like 91. One of my new favorites.

Fruit and spice on the nose, with a medium viscosity body. More fruit and a little heat on the finish. Was initially a little underwhelmed by this one, but it grew on me. Not nearly as cloyingly sweet as the Sherry cask finish. Easy drinking.

This is nice, Almost like a desert wine initially. Molasses on the nose, sweet, medium body with just a bit of burn at the end.

Reminds me of Balvenie 12 on the nose--balanced fruit, sweetness, and spice. Medium to light body with tart apples. Finish is short with some burn. Starts better than it finishes, but not bad.

Spice and honey on the nose, medium body, surprisingly smooth finish for the abv. A little plain so unsure if I'd but a bottle but nice.

This is really nice. Smoke and brine, but slight. Nice body with spice and fruit, very smooth finish.

Vanilla and meaty, with a sweet, medium body. Would buy again.

Apples, honey, and a bit of spice on the nose. Medium body, incredibly smooth. Lingering finish with just the right amount of heat. Really wonderful dram.
