Nice to try a 45% Irish--I've had so many that are only 40. Very strong vanilla on the nose, along with custard, coconut, shortbread, and acetone. Medium body and long finish, although a bit harsh. Ok, but not one I'd but again. 1-2: shots only 2-3: sippable 3-4: would buy again 4-5: permanent collection

This has the nose of a subtle speyside, sweet with a bit of spice. A bit of ethanol on the body, but otherwise pretty smooth. Having a hard time picking out many notes in this one. Pleasant and inoffensive, but not very memorable.

A very nice, smooth Speyside with clear Sherry influence. Sweet Apple pie and molasses in the nose. Body's smooth and rich, with a subtle spicy finish. Didn't get the meaty notes that are in a lot of reviews (but I'm also a vegetarian, so....). I like this bottle and would get it again, but it wasn't quite distinctive enough to be a favorite.

Sweet toasted coconut dominates on nose, along with fruity and spicy notes. Mouthfeel is smooth, rich, and creamy with a lingering finish. Really excellent whiskey.

Nose is pancakes with lots of syrup, with a bit of corn and ethanol. Body is smooth with more pronounced corn and the finish is spicy with a bit of burn.

Nose has Sherry sweetness, apple juice, and cloves. Body is mild with less honey than expected. Finish a bit harsh.

Nose is sweet and spicy with malty/bread notes and a little ethanol. Body is medium viscosity and sweet, with a sweet lingering finish that has just a bit of alcohol burn. I didn't like this one very much when I first opened the bottle (didn't seem worth $50 compared to Scotches at that price), but it's grown on me as I'm reaching the end of the bottle. Interested to try other offerings from this distillery.

Toffee, apple juice, and pancake syrup on the nose. Body is viscous, with a fruity spiciness. Spice lingers on finish, with little to no burn. Great Sherry bomb. Would buy again.

Spicy apple cider on the nose, with a little sweetness. The sweetness kicks into high gear on the body, like thick pancake syrup. Finish is long, sweet and spicy, with little to no burn. The spice gives it more character then the standard Sherry bomb. Would buy again.

Smoke and a bit of iodine/plastic. Lighter body, with more campfire smoke. Finish surprisingly smooth, with lingering ash. Had this in a blind tasting, and was surprised to learn it was Ardbeg. Way lighter and with fewer Band-Aids than I expect from them!
