Tastes

Musty. Like capturing the smell of an old leather bound bookstore and tasting it. Some spice and an aftertaste of pickle and and old hippie. But it makes you want more. Not too shabby.

Nice for sipping but nothing special.

Very good, but overhyped. Redbreast was just as good and half the cost. I went to a swanky bar on 5th ave in Manhattan and I asked the waiter if they had redbreast, bring me it neat, otherwise bring me a list. He brought it to me neat and said "The bartender would like to commend you on your choice". It was pretty cool to have that said to me in front of my wife. I felt like I was in a commercial for the stuff. Not sure how this ended up in a pappy review. I like pappy. Just overpriced because of the hype.

A surprisingly decent go to and bang for the buck. Sweet on the tongue and on the nose. Chocolate, caramel, lemon

One of my favorites and outright best bang for the buck by a long shot. Smooth, mapley, nice neat or on the rocks. It's between this and Johnnie Green as my go to when I don't want to mix. This is a better whiskey.
