Tastes

I get mostly varnish, vanilla and oak on the nose. Taste is vanilla, lots of wood, some alcohol heat. Some brown sugar. Quite an astringent finish. Not picking up fruit notes. Fairly pleasant to sip. It grows on you.

I get a lot of wood, rye, and some mint on the nose. Mostly burnt toast, spice, vanilla taste. Burnt wood and mint on the finish. I expect this will be better for cocktails than as a sipper.

The nose reminds me a wood shop, with a mix of oak and something like turpentine. Not unpleasant. The palette though starts with a harsh burn, which continues to obscure the honey and fruit notes, which only become apparent with patience and disappear on the finish. Adding some water helps a bit, but I don't think this will work as a sipper.

Lighter color than bourbon? Aroma has fruit - peach, banana up front. Then licorice. Flavor is "hot" though, some licorice on the finish, not particularly sweet. Wait actually on the second sip some sweetness does appear before disappearing behind the heat. Interesting.

Aroma is wood, corn, caramel, alcohol. Taste is sweet, then a sharp bite, then smoother, buttery

Color is a nice gold. Lots of alcohol on the nose, fairly medicinal, some oak, vanilla. Taste is mildly sweet, cake, honey, lots of alcohol, "hot". Maybe some of that is spiciness, I'm not sure. That fades a bit, then more vanilla honey. Added a couple of drops of water, softens a bit but not really getting different notes.
