Knob Creek Small Batch Bourbon (NAS)

Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey
Blended — Ireland
Reviewed January 29, 2021 (edited February 13, 2021)Smooth and fun. His whiskey tastes like he fights. Amazing! -
The nose is less complex but that is where the average ratings end for this liquid. The taste is like riding a open carriage in a hay field with fresh oak barrels on the air. The raw fresh cut of reality pours out of the glass. Don’t mistake oak for any degree of peat or smoke, this is unique and special. If you like the Teeling single malt this is a brother whiskey but with its own character and super powers. The finish carries the feel the taste pulls forward and lingers and helps the taste buds process the experience. A great dram for any evening of imbibing.

Teeling Single Malt Irish Whiskey
Single Malt — Ireland
Reviewed July 15, 2020 (edited December 9, 2020)Wow - the initial nosing causes the drinker to pause and wonder “what did I spend my money on?” It is a little light with hints of scotch in the background. But wait, there’s more..... The first sip is an explosion of notes across a spectrum of oak, rip tropical fruit and herbal teas. The complexity is hard to capture but worth the trip of your hand to the glass and the glass to your mouth. The finish is sweet and lasting. This is an important upgrade from the small batch or single grain. To date, it is the beat Teeling I have tried - nicely done! On to the Pot Still next... stay toned! -
Kirkland 12 Year Blended Scotch
Blended — Scotland
Reviewed June 11, 2020 (edited September 15, 2020)Increased points for both price and experience. Strong sensation of brown sugar, vanilla, sherry and dried fruits. It is hard to ignore the smooth nature of the liquid. It is approachable and balanced. I was initially scared aware by the label indicating the smokey nature of the blended offering but take it from someone who does not like peat, don’t pass this up - you will miss out on a great opportunity to experience Scotch at its finest. -
The smell of alcohol pours over the top of the glass on each approach. The harsh sense dissipates upon the taste of the refined liquid. The forward wood notes fill the pallet and are complemented by the balanced cherry and vanilla flavors. This is easily one of the easiest drinking whiskeys in the collection.

Glenlivet Nàdurra First Fill Selection
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed May 16, 2020 (edited May 4, 2022)The buttery smooth nose is pounded by the bite of this strong alcohol forward dram. The typical Glenlivet notes can be found deep beneath this high bite taste. A nice add to the collection.
