A reliable rye to keep in the cabinet. Great with a splash of water or in your preferred rye cocktail.

The oak comes through, along with some mellow chocolate and light fruit. Good value for a great bourbon. Best with a splash of water.

Nose: peat smoke, fruit punch, ocean breeze Palate: crisp, briny, pleasant sweetness; flavors follow the nose Finish: smoke lingers as the rest fades This is a great spirit at a reasonable price. Just as drinkable as its older brother, though perhaps a bit rougher around the edges; the flavors were still getting to know each other at bottling.

All the good things said about this whisky are true. Perhaps the best value of any Islay single malt... it is a mainstay in my rotation. Smoke, salt, meat on the palate and the nose. Pleasant sweetness. Bliss.

Honey, vanilla, and melon on the nose. Sweet and very full on the palate, with flavor following the nose. I recommend taking it with a bit of water to bring the proof to around 80. Straight out of the bottle, the whisky has a tendency to bite.
