St. Elmo Dark Cherry & Vanilla Bourbon
Flavored Whiskey — Indiana, USA
Reviewed April 21, 2024 (edited April 23, 2024)Man I was hopeful for this one… tried it neat to start, made all the hair on my arms and legs stand up, not good. Strong, medicinal cherry cough syrup with barely any bourbon to overpower it. Threw in a couple cubes and swirled to chill…. barely helped, still made funny faces. Added cola, tolerable. Something low-end like red stag is waaaaaaaay better. I won’t share this with friends, and I’m one of those Chicagoans who ENJOYS doing shots of Malört which doesn’t hide what it is. With enough coke zero ill get through the bottle, but I won’t buy again or ever tell a friend to waste their money. Who greenlit this trash? -
Very forgettable. I’d rather get a big bottle of Kirkland over this. First taste I thought it had potential then 2 seconds later the alcohol came in and wiped out any actual flavor, after taste you could get a little of the barrel but also didnt taste quite right. Glad I just got a nipper to try it, because if i spent the money on a full bottle I would have been pissed. Its not harsh thankfully, thats about the only compliment I can give it.Total Wine & More

Kirkland Tequila Añejo
Tequila Añejo — Jalisco, Mexico
Reviewed December 31, 2023 (edited July 9, 2024)Just started branching into tequilas that you can sip. Ive always enjoyed margaritas, palomas, and shots, but have been looking for anejos that are great neat or on the rocks. This one is great. You get a nice mixture of oak and floral notes which remind me a lot of sake. Its lighter than others I’ve tried like Cazadores, but smoother as well. Kirkland hit a home run with this one.30.0 USD per BottleCostco Wholesale -
Booker's Bourbon Batch 2018-01 Kathleen's Batch
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed June 10, 2018 (edited March 11, 2019)Introduced to Booker’s when my sister got me a bottle of the Blue Knights Batch for my birthday. Instant fan. When I saw this batch, Kathleen’s, I had to try it. I always try neat at first, and this baby packs a punch, as I have learned Booker’s is notorious for as it is uncut and cask strength. Added a few small pieces of crushed ice, swirled, and tasted again. Sweet, oak in the beginning then brown sugar/molasses as it trails off. This punches hard in an amazing way. I went to multiple locations to get more before it disappears, sold out everywhere. Finally found a place with 2 more and one Blue Knight left, so I grabbed all three. $69.99 is standard price in the Chicago suburbs
