Four Roses Small Batch Select Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 23, 2021 (edited March 25, 2021)Being a Four Roses fan, this is a favorite of mine. Very solid bourbon and a different flavor profile than the single barrel. While it's is very good, it doesn't hold up to the single barrel store picks.55.0 USD per Bottle -
Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Very Fine Rare Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 12, 2021 (edited March 25, 2021)Amazing nose, but lacking in the flavor and finish for something in this price range. Definitely worth trying but try to find a pour before a bottle. I'm happy I bought a pour and not a bottle.18.0 USD per Pour -
Bulleit 12 Year Rye (2019 Release)
Rye — Indiana, USA
Reviewed November 3, 2020 (edited May 11, 2021)*Rating is price relative Nose: Vanilla, rye, brown sugar, slight ethanol Palate: Vanilla, dried fruit, pie crust, toasted sugars Finish: Medium length with vanilla, sugar, heavy rye spice, and baking spice I'm finally reviewing this on the last pour of the bottle and my opinion has gotten progressively better through the bottle. This is a very nice rye for the price. It has a lot of depth in the flavor and a fair amount of complexity for its price range. However, I will say that this is a rye lover's rye. It does not border on bourbon and has some in your face rye spice. I am a rye lover, so it gets my vote. If you're a rye lover, give this a try at $50.50.0 USD per Bottle -
Michter's 10 Year Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Rye (2020 Release)
Rye — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 19, 2020 (edited February 29, 2024)*Rating is price relative Nose: Cinnamon, clove, rye spice Palate: Dried fruits, cinnamon, oak, rye spice, hints of toffee Finish: Long with cinnamon, clove, a hint of butterscotch, and just the right amount of spice to tie all of those together I'm a big Michter's fan in general and this one does not disappoint. I feel that this is a rye that even those who only drink bourbon could really appreciate. A lot of delicate flavors and a long beautiful finish without overpowering rye spice. This is a buy on sight for me.(at ~retail price)140.0 USD per Bottle -
Michter's 10 Year Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon (2020 Release)
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 19, 2020 (edited March 25, 2021)*Rating is price relative Nose: Cinnamon, Clove, Nutmeg Palate: Vanilla, Oak, Cinnamon Finish: Medium/Long with vanilla transitioning into cinnamon. This is a really solid bourbon, especially if you're a Michter's fan. I happen to be a fan and will keep this around if I can. To me. this is a more complex version of their standard small batch bourbon and really shines on the finish. If you're not a fan of Michter's standard offerings, you may want to spend your $120 elsewhere.120.0 USD per Bottle -
I.W. Harper 15 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed August 16, 2020 (edited March 25, 2021)Unfortunately, the good reviews here led to me wasting $80 on this. It's not a bad bourbon. Very easy drinking which may be appealing to some but it has little to no complexity and a very short finish. I've had alot better bourbons for half the cost. Do yourself a favor and pass on this. Take the $80 and buy 2 bottles of better bourbon.79.99 USD per Bottle
