The 2020 release for Michter's 10 Year Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Rye was released in July 2020. It was made with a mash bill of rye, corn, and malted barley and matured in new toasted then charred American oak barrels for 10 years.
This release will be the only 10 year rye release for the brand this year. As always, this is made in limited production.

RyeRye produced in the US must be made of at least 51% rye and it must be aged in new, charred oak barrels (no age requirement). Elsewhere, it will be made according to the country of origin's rules regarding the recipe and minimum aging.

Tasting Notes
"The nose is an explosion of sharp baking spices (clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger powder, allspice) with a bit of grapefruit and orange peel. No one expects this to be a shy whisky, but it really comes on strong on the palate with a surprising, tart burst of dried apricot and mango, hot cinnamon, honeysuckle florals, roasted barley green tea, and underlying bitterness of walnut and lots of oak. Overall, it's a strong, delightful-to-sip barrel selection, if ever so slightly too oaky and hot in the finish. "
