Larceny Barrel Proof Bourbon Batch A124

Reviewed August 11, 2024 (edited September 3, 2024)Im getting a really nice fruit scent to this one on the nose, almost citursy. And maybe even a nice brown sugar sweetness to it. On the palpate its definitely got some heat to it, with that red hot cinnamon taste to it on the front end, but Im getting this nice oaky taste to it as the sip progresses. Im also really liking the mouth feel to it as it carries some volume to it throughout the sip. I like too how it lingers through the finish and leave an almost toffee taste to it that persists after the sip.70.0 USD per Bottle -
With the nose on this im almost getting this clorox lemon wipe, or pine sol scent to it, with a mild carmel scent to it. I feel like im almost getting a plasticy scent to it as well, as if you took a deep wife of a tupperware container. I do really like the mouth feel on this one. Its got a nice thick, viscous feel to it. It doesnt have a ton of sweetness to it on the palate to me, maybe a bit of honey but im mostly getting more of a baking spice taste to it, like a nutmeg or ginger. I really want to like this one more than I do because it is a very smooth, pleasing sip but Im not pulling a ton of that sweetness I was anticipating. But overall still a really good sip55.0 USD per Bottle

On the nose Im definitely getting a sweetness with this one, like a vanilla extract scent to it or almost a fresh bread scent to it. It smells like as if you were in the process of forming the dough of a nice batch of chocolate chip cookies. You get a quick burst of heat up front but honestly, I feel that the sweetness I got in the nose falls a bit flat on the palate. That notes fade kinda quicker than my liking. But on the back end Im getting a more bitter leathery/tobaccoy taste to it. Overall not bad, reasonable quality for the price.32.0 USD per Bottle

You can sense the proof and rye to this one. You can really feel it make those nose hairs tingle. On the nose, though, Im getting a vanilla sweetness that is really standing out to me. Im also getting a bit of cherry to it as well. Its almost got like a cherry coke thing going for it. You can really feel the heat with this one. The mouth feel is really nice on this one too. To me its not as sweet on the palate and Im getting more of a cinnamon on the front end here. Through the finish it has a bit of a peppery note and then has a bit of a bitter note that lingers beyond the finish. Not a bad sip, ryes just really arent my cup of tea.49.99 USD per Bottle

To me this one is pretty tame on the nose, nothing is really popping out to me. I am getting maybe a mild fruity, appley scent to it. On the palate, again not a ton of sweetness is sticking out to me. I enjoy the mouth feel to this one, though, it has a some decent volume to it, almost buttery in texture. As the sip progresses too, I get a bit of that peppery baking spice taste to it. The sip also lingers on the finish but Im really just getting a slow burn sensation, the flavors of this one really arent presenting themselves strongly. Not a bad sip but nothing to write home about.35.0 USD per Bottle

On the nose Im getting a smokey scent to it, with this carmelized sweetness note to it. Almost like a toasted pecan scent. Kinda reminds me as if you were sitting out by a campfire and the smoke was wafting towards you. On the palate that charred, smokey note continues for me. And again Im getting that nutty sweetness to it. I wish the mouth feel was a bit more viscous but I really enjoyed this sip!60.0 USD per Bottle

Its gentle on the nose with a vanilla and brown sugar sweetness to it. Im also getting maybe slight notes of mint on the nose as well. On the palate Its not overly impressive to me. Its a little watery on the mouth feel and then I don’t feel it really carries much weight to it. Its got a slight bite, peppery taste on the front end, but then it just falls off to me and kinda leaves me hanging. I wish it had a bit more robustness to it35.0 USD per Bottle

Reviewed August 4, 2024I may be way off on this but im getting almost a green apple sourish note to this one, which is then followed by a buttery sweetness and Im really enjoying it. So right away on the mouth feel Im getting a nice richness and viscosity. On the front of the palate its got a nice subtle vanilla sweetness to it. Then it lingers nicely through the finsih with a soft cinnamon flavor while warming my chest on the way down. Really nice sip. One of my favorites!49.99 USD per Bottle -
Its slightly abrasive on the nose, but Im getting light vanilla to it - its not an overpowering sweetness, but it is present. I feel like Im getting a light appley sweetness to it as well - like fresh sweetness. Got little bit of heat to it on the palate, And im getting a strong baking spice taste to it, like a peppery cinnamon flavor. I do enjoy how it carries into the back half and finish, though, its got some staying power. An enjoyable sip but a little pricey for what you get.50.0 USD per Bottle
