lots of mid-palate richness here. the port finish blankets the rye spices rather neatly, so it’s a little sweeter than your normal mgp rye, but the finish brings those spices back. overall it’s pretty enjoyable.

57.2 ABV never a disappointment. rye spices, licorice… how do they do it? don’t know, don’t care. just enjoy

dark & mellow overtones. plenty of burnt peanuts on the palate. drinks below proof. very nice!

Barrel #2105 - 59.5 ABV no disappointment here. wonderful balance & flavor, as expected 👍

59.56 ABV to me, everything about this tastes toasted: the rye, the apricot notes, the tart earthy finish. what would be considered standard notes of a rye are subtlety pushed in the background to mix with the barrel finish notes. it has multi-levels of tastes that blend well. pretty impressive.

very clean palate. plenty of rye notes with 95% mashbill & touch of sweetness underneath. would make an excellent mixer as well. no messin around here, just a good solid rye whiskey.
