slightly astringent on the nose. same on palate, but mixed with rye spice & barrel sweetness. finish more of the same. consistent flavors throughout. not my favorite of all-time, but not bad either.

114.6 proof batch. it tries to be good, but too many plastic (or bad dill) hints on the palate make it difficult to appreciate. not very well-rounded either.

no typical corn sweetness, obviously due to the wheat, which makes this smooth sailing with the proof giving it a kick. swishing it with an ice cube for a few minutes brings out some good flavor.

rye/dill spice on nose, barrel sweetness & rye on palate, decent finish with the rye staying nice & safe on top. good quality stuff. second taste a month later: flavors aren’t as deep. much more alcohol presence. hmmm

for me, if this had just a touch less proof burn, it would be close to perfect. even as is, it’s an amazing specimen for $65, or almost any price.

good, solid no nonsense bourbon. classic taste notes, right amount of proof... easily a beverage that would do for any social occasion without disappointment.

you can tell immediately this isn’t your regular blanton’s. the nose is immediately full of proof & takes a bit to get through to the flavor notes. the palette has no problem with flavor. tasty & classic bourbon!

not too complex, but solid enough to be enjoyable. definitely worth a look & your money.
