Tastes

I had the pleasure of sampling this and having it in a revolver cocktail at the Aquifer on the third floor of the New Riff Distillery. It was indeed complex and finished with a pleasant an slight smoky heat. In the revolver as a spirit forward cocktail the sour mash blends magnificently and was quite enjoyable. In talking to the bartenders this sour mash single malt was mentioned as a top favorite by each. Great bottle to have on the shelf!

After drinking a few days neat I decided to give it a smoke with hickory chips. Oh My! Amazing

I had the privilege of tasting this mixed in an old fashion. The higher proof was present without overwhelming and really encouraging the flavors of both the bourbon, but also the orange and richness of the demerara syrup. It made for an exceptional cocktail. I am looking forward to purchasing this bottle and getting a true taste.

This was a good tasting quality bourbon I would drink again, but not purchase personally. I did appreciate the 100 proof when mixed to make an old fashion.
