We had an unopened bottle sitting in the office so after @Elw00t watched me wage war on the wax top I finally got it open. It’s a bit bitter and spicy, lacking the sweetness I was expecting to find. Red Hots and wood chips.

If you’re following me and you haven’t updated your app yet, you should do that! Quarter stars have arrived. (On the website too). This is my favorite go to bourbon. Being as that it’s a single barrel there’s always some fun variety and it’s always good. Generally affordable where I live, as well as widely available, it checks all the boxes. Also for suckers of good packaging the bottle is awesome and I defy you to change my mind.

When you go grocery shopping and you realize they’re selling Lagavulin 16 for $45 off, you shrug and say “It’s Friday” and ask them to unlock the case.

Mildly sweet, thin, and very grassy and vegetal. Not bad but not great. It’s.. fine. My mouth tastes like I spent the last hour chewing on some grass.

Again pulled from a sample at HQ. Seems much higher proof than it actually is. It tastes like caramel apples to me. Not in a bad way though.

Tasted off of the sample in the office. Wow. I was worried the orange would come through and be distracting but it really doesn’t. I’m admittedly a big fan of all Parker’s Heritage releases, but this was really enjoyable.
