This bourbon is a wild ride, that’s for sure. It starts off with a sweet, classic corn whiskey flavor with some caramel and molasses notes. This abruptly switches to a dark chocolate, robust coffee finish that is surprising and incredibly unique.

Nose: Not complex at all, some vanilla notes, pickle juice Palate: Extremely mild and one dimensional, very odd pickle juice flavors that linger throughout. Finish: pickle juice Overall: I would say this is a bourbon you should try simply to experience the surprising pickle juice flavors.

Nose: vanilla, caramel, somewhat mild Palate: very nice caramel notes throughout, medium heat/spice on the tongue, oily mouth feel, vanilla, oak, hints of cinnamon & toffee. Finish: wonderful oak and caramel notes that linger long afterwards. Overall: Exceptional bourbon for the price, better than Blanton’s in my opinion. Hats off to Buffalo Trace for keeping this priced in the $40’s as they could easily have this up near $70-$90. This proves that whiskey prices are based not on quality, but rarity.

Nose: sweetness, hints of candy corn and hay bales. Taste: decent amount of burn, strong candy corn notes, very one-dimensional. Overall: Not bad, but not going to give you the richness or fullness of other bourbons at this price point. It is interesting and definitely worth trying.

Nose: sweetness, caramel, honey Taste: very smooth and warm, slight delayed burn, wonderful caramel and toffee notes, honey, not very much oak or smokiness. Overall, this bourbon is fantastic and for the price point, 100% worth it.

Nose: not very strong on the nose, hints of leather and floral notes. Taste: somewhat smooth, plastic/artificial sweetener notes, not much burn at all, very light.

Full-bodied, strong caramel notes with a bit of spice and burn upfront. Relatively smooth with some vanilla sweetness.

Strong marshmallow notes with an overwhelming ethanol burn. This is a truly awful whiskey and for the price, is absolutely not worth buying. I only tried it because I recently moved to N.C. And want to try every local whiskey.

Honey, slight oak with a nice sweetness. Surprisingly long finish with some brown sugar notes. Exceptional entry level bourbon.

Almond/nut, oak, vanilla, slight caramel notes. Smooth with a slight burn. A must-try bourbon as they were the first distillery to actually put their bourbon in a glass bottle.
