Tastes

Honey on the nose that turns to strawberry and fruit. After sip or two tobacco and spice can be found. The palate continues the strawberry note and then mixes in some peppermint. Think kids strawberry toothpaste! The finish is nice and long with the rye spice and floral/perfume notes you'd expect from a four roses!

Sweet oak and spice turn into spiced baked bread on the nose. Palate starts out vanilla graham crackers with sprinkled cinnamon and quickly turns to the hard root beer candies. Finish lasts longer then you'd expect but nothing memorable. Dry and tart oak tannins ride through out the finish. For a 90 proof with a screw cap the nose is good and the palate is surprisingly more complex then one would expect. The finish was the least enjoyable part of this dram for me.

Finish is solid, sweet char, oak with a root beer hard candy! -
I.W. Harper 15 Year Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed February 14, 2021 (edited November 10, 2021)Sweetness on the nose. Dark fruits and sweet spice, think allspice and brown sugar. The palate is a little thin but nothing to complain about. The fruit and spice carrier over to the front of the palate. While the back of the palate start a floral, earthy mint note that start a good and surprising long dry finish. The age of this whiskey becomes apparent with the pepper, rye, oak and tannins that dominate the finish. -
