Old Forester 1910 Old Fine Whisky
Bourbon
Old Forester // Kentucky, USA
Old Forester 1910 Old Fine Whisky is the fourth and final limited edition whiskey in the brand's Whiskey Row series first introduced in 2014. The Kentucky straight bourbon attempts to recreate a whiskey created in October 1910 when a fire caused the brand's bottling line to be shut down.
A vat of mature whiskey was ready to be bottled and so as not to further age in the barrels were placed into new, charred oak containers to rest while the bottling line was fixed. This recreation enters the second barrel at 100 proof and is placed into lightly toasted, heavily charred barrels to finish maturation.

Tasting Notes
"The bouquet is a forest of wood aromas: dry vanilla, char smoke, and soaked wood. Buried in all of this is the scent of green bananas. The palate’s fruits are tart and masked by layers of chocolate, walnut liqueur, cinnamon, and burnt sugars. Old Forester is really laying it on thick, so to speak. Sure there’s nice maturity but it seems a bit forced."
