Tastes

Spicy, peppery fruit on the nose. Some orange and chocolate layered in underneath. Lots of citrus and chocolate opens up the palate. Oak and wood come in afterwards, but very soft and smooth overall. Something like baked apple in there too. Finish is quite short in flavour, but oiliness lingers.

Smooth, sweet aromas on the nose: butterscotch, vanilla, blossom, something grassy like hay, cinnamon, apple. Palate is more subdued and takes on notes of toffee, caramel, vanilla. Oaky dryness. Finish is medium, but something sweet like bubblegum appears at the end. Perfectly decent, solid sipping whisky, but nothing mind-blowing.

The peat and smoky aromas are mellowed by a deep, rich sweet fragrance. Less smoky bacon, more smoked dried fruits. Some rich sweetness like honey and caramel on the palate, but with gentle peat underlying the flavours. Finish is lightly sweet and quite short.

The nose is still peated and smoky, but much less so than the standard talisker 10. A certain sweetness envelopes the ashy smoke smell. Bold, caramel like sweetness opens up the palate and remains prevalent throughout. Mouthcoating, but not quite oily. Vanilla, toffee, oak notes. Finish is light and short, leaving this feeling a little thin on the end, but very drinkable.

Big, punchy aromas of smoky salted bacon and bonfire ashes. Some spicy notes too, and wet earth. Delicious salty palate with a pleasant amount of peat smoke. Very subtle fruit, which then fades into a surprisingly umami filled middle, then ends with a medium short finish. Quite dry. Been a long time since I've had it but still my all time favourite so far. I think one day I'll find something with a bit more fruit and prefer it though

Lots of wood, spice, oil, leather on the nose. The palate is very full and rich, with good pungency from the alcohol. More leather, oak, and old books. Love the full body and bold character.

Aromas of straw or hay, soft honey, and vanilla ice cream, amidst lots of grain. Palate opens up with a little caramel and vanilla. Quite oily and thick, and the subtle sweetness lingers for a while.

Spiced aromas, with notes of pear, pine, and some gentle peat. Light, with prominent sweetness from the casks perhaps. Some definite woodiness that makes it a little dry. Finish is quite short. I like this as a good, slightly sweet Highland. Great value and good for everyday drinking.

Aromas of dark fruits like raisins, plums, blackberries, with some spicy notes and new leather. Palate is medium sweet, with some astringency. Orange, toffee, white chocolate are present but not overly powerful. Hints of cocoa towards the end. Finish is medium length, leaving a tingly pungency and subtle chocolate notes. Perfectly decent, just perhaps lacking in character for my tastes.

Very peaty on the nose. Spicy, pepper, dried fruits. Delicious, but a bit too much peat smoke for me for a Highland.
