Woodford Reserve Double Oaked
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 30, 2018 (edited April 24, 2018)(Big Red BP) wow this is butterscotch candy on the nose. Very sweet and inviting. The nose flavors run over onto the palate, wry heavy on the sweeter notes of honey, butterscotch, Carmel and vanilla. Slight dry oak on the finish. This could be the best smelling bourbon I’ve ever had. -
Henry McKenna 10 Year Bottled in Bond Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 30, 2018 (edited April 24, 2018)Sweet on the nose, butterscotch, Carmel, vanilla, slight oak. Although the nose is nice the palate isn’t the best. Slight oaky sweetness on the front then quickly overran by an alcohol heat. Not one of my favorites. -
Very sweet and inviting nose. Mocha, butterscotch, vanilla, Carmel. Again quite sweet on the palate with loads of vanilla. Once the initial palate fades you get tons of oak, almost to much in my opinion. Kind of has a sour finish due to all the oak. With the higher price point I’m hesitant to say this is a solid bourbon.

Willett Pot Still Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 23, 2018 (edited April 24, 2018)Inviting on the nose. Sweet vanillas, Carmel, cinnamon. Almost French toast like on the nose. Nice and oily on the palate with hits of vanilla and burnt Carmel. Middle palate hits with loads of warming cinnamon. Nice warming sensation on the finish. Overall very nice especially for the price. -
Weller Special Reserve Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed March 17, 2018 (edited April 24, 2018)A nice sweet burn in the nose, okay, earthy, vanilla. Easy on the mouth, oily, with a mild oak and vanilla. Not a whole lot going on at the end. Just ends abruptly. Overall a nice bourbon but doesn’t have a lot of character.
