This is not a sweet dram by any means, it is quintessentially a savory sip. It is light bodied as it is a 40%, but it has halfway decent legs and no overwheming heat. I appreciate this bottle neat, but that is my personal choice. The salt and earthiness and gentle heat reminds me of campfire in a damp forest on the Oregon Coast. As it breathes it opens up a strong malt/cereal scent with light honey notes. As the the dram is finished, the residual notes are of burnt orange peel and and dark caramel or toffee without a strong sweetness. I have a sweet tooth so other regions are more my speed but I do enjoy this as an affordable change of palate taste.39.95 USD per BottleRose City Liquor

Reviewed May 10, 2025 (edited May 16, 2025)Strong honey notes, full body and caramel after taste but quite “young” in overall presentation. It isnt “bad” overall necessarily but i would argue it is not a whiskey for sipping solo, especially for its price point. What I HAVE found is that it is excellent as a mixer for any cocktail that incorporates whiskey or bourbon along with honey, or need of a caramel flavor. What i have found its primary use is for my Salted honey whiskey salted caramel recipe i make. It is a hit everytime when people can pickup the whiskey and honey notes on the finish. And its addition at the end to the molten sugar seems to cook off any unpleasant volatile flavors and actually improves it. And heat to “hardball” stage or just above. Your adjustments may need to vary by elevation.
