Elijah Craig 18 Year Single Barrel Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed December 1, 2022 (edited December 2, 2022)I haven’t had this for a while; it was pricey and got it at a Virginia ABC store. On the nose Oak and Blackberry, especially the Blackberry. You get a little bit of red apple on the nose but I didn’t get that until my 3-4 sniff. After a few sips I picked up some strawberries and cream on the nose. The palate is OK, lots of oak and dark fruits. It just falls off so fast because of the lack of proof. You get some cherry on the second sip and some red apple. My only complaint on this is the proof. I wish they had bottled this at 105-110 and it might be my favorite bottle. -
Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14 Year
Single Malt — Speyside, Scotland
Reviewed October 26, 2022 (edited December 20, 2022)It is my favorite Scotch (I am a bourbon guy). It is sweet, fruity, lite compared to bourbon. Smells of green grapes and green apple. On the palate little smoke and fruity. -
Bardstown Bourbon Co. Discovery Series #7
Blended — (bottled in) Kentucky, Multiple Countries
Reviewed October 5, 2022This remains my favorite bottle, excepting Bardstown Triple Staves. The sweet notes are everywhere and it is smooth as can get. It is great, that is why I have had three bottles. -
Calumet Farm 16 Year Single Rack Black Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 5, 2022 (edited October 16, 2022)I opened this two months ago and simply loved it. Had some again today and felt the 15 year was actually a bit better. Regardless, both are fantastic. -
Calumet Farm 15 Year Single Rack Black Bourbon
Bourbon — Kentucky, USA
Reviewed October 5, 2022 (edited November 12, 2022)Opened this two months ago and had some again today. It’s fantastic, I also had a small pour from the Cal 16 and over time the 15 may be a bit better.
