Tastes

The nose is full of smoke, like sitting down wind of a campfire (in a pleasent way). The smoke gives way to a slight tangy bitterness on the tongue with a hint of baked brown sugar. The finish, very long, continues the theme and adds a bit of nuttiness (walnut?).

This whiskey had a tremendous amount of complexity with. Each flavor note feels very segmented and separate from the previous from nose to finish. The nose has deep sweet stone fruit flavors with chocolate and a bit of nuttiness. The palet is very woody with flavors of oregano and charred oak alongside more nuttiness and stone fruit sweetness. The finish is a pleasent blend of pepper and spearmint with some bitter liqorice aftertones.
