The lakes Bal masque
Single Malt — Lake District , England
Reviewed May 28, 2022 (edited December 21, 2022)Part of the 'The Whiskymaker's Editions' from The Lakes. Matured in two different types of French oak, previously used as wine casks. A pleasant, fruity smell. It tingles the tongue, fills your mouth with flavour and lingers for a long time. I really enjoy it.83.0 EUR per Bottle -
I tasted most products of Wolfburn at a tasting event. Out of Aurora, 375, Northland, Morven, Langskip, The Nectar, and 318, I prefered the 375 and 318. However, at this pricepoint there are better options out there for me. Langskip initially had apple and candy in the nose. It fills your mouth. Peppery burn and alcoholburn, apple, salty seawater, almond, a little medicinal, caramel.

Personally I wasn't overly impressed.

However, at this pricepoint there are better options out there for me. The 375 was comparable to aurora, with dark chocolate, cherry, and that peppery burn, but less of an underlying medicinal taste. More orange or exotic fruit in the nose. Lighter than aurora. A little less impact as well in the mouth, but overall the balance of flavours was more preferable for me.

However, at this pricepoint there are better options out there for me. Aurora had a pleasant mellow smell. Cherry in the nose. A little bit of woodburn. Dark chocolate, peppery burn, a little medicinal alcohol, lasts decently long.
