It;s got this cognac thing going on with a fruity grape-like essence, and it's not bad. For the price though, you could find a lot better with a lot less.

Don't hurt him he's delicate. This Japanese whiskey is soft and warm with some light floral tones and a good kick of honey. This is what you want from an everyday Japanese whiskey that you can just keep buying, over and over. Did someone say whiskey highball?

If the Islay Rushmore scare you a little, this is a good gateway into the peated world. It's a great fusion of sweet, fruity and floral highland malts with a touch of peat that open the horizons of a smoky future. It's a sip of a highland malt followed by a french kiss from a pack-a-day smoker.

Not my favourite Islay tank but it is deliciously unique in the style. Obviously that ashtray filled with tar that we know and love, but some hints of chocolate are what make this dram decidedly different.

By-far my favourite go-to scotch, It's a powerhouse that has all the bells and whistles. To put it straight, it's like getting slapped with a leather glove that has been used to smoke cigarettes for 25 years, with kiss on the cheek of vanilla and honey. Yummy right?

This is for me is Buffalo Trace just more crafty and delicious. It's fantastic as an everyday dram but steals the show in boozy whiskey-forward cocktails. It's a little hard to come by in Ontario so that kinda sucks but when it comes around it's a no-brainer.

This is my favourite go to bourbon for an everyday sipper. It's great on it's own and a great workhorse spirit behind the bar.
